Nick, Satanique's founder, sorting red habaneros at a steel kitchen bench
Our story

Possessed since the first batch.

The first time I grew my own peppers then turned them into fermented hot sauce, I was hooked. After making sauces for friends and family for years, I wanted to share the flavours I love with other people.

Satanique (say-tan-EEK) is a nod to the French Canadian area where I first grew peppers, my appreciation of good food, and that feeling I get when I look at weird old art about demons and hell.

Now, I hand make everything in Ottawa, Ontario, with a focus on local ingredients. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
