FAQ

Heat, shipping, pickup and the rest.

How hot are they?

Hot, but the flavour comes first. Original Sin is a 2 out of 5: sweet, tangy and gentle. Incorruptible and Burnt at the Stake are both 3 out of 5, a warm heat that builds without taking over. All three use habaneros.

Which one should I start with?

Original Sin if you like sweet and tangy, Incorruptible if you'd put pickles on anything, and Burnt at the Stake if you're all about the grill. Can't decide? The Trio gets you all three.

Where do you ship?

Anywhere in Canada, and shipping is free on orders of 6 bottles or more. In Ottawa, local pickup and delivery are both free.

How fast will my order ship?

As fast as we can, usually within 2–3 business days.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes, pickup in Ottawa is free, near Carling Ave and Breezehill Ave South, usually Monday to Wednesday. Choose local pickup at checkout and we'll email you when your order is ready.

Do you deliver in Ottawa?

Yes, local delivery anywhere in Ottawa is free. Deliveries go out once a week, on Monday or Tuesday. Choose local delivery at checkout.

What if a bottle arrives broken?

We'll replace it. Take a few photos of the damage and the box, and send them to nick@eatsatanique.com.

Can I return my order?

All sales are final. Broken bottles are always replaced (see above).

How should I store it?

Refrigerate after opening and shake well before using. It's best within 12 months, though it should keep longer.

What's in them? Any allergens?

The full ingredients are listed on each sauce's page. Incorruptible contains mustard, and Original Sin contains honey.

Why are they fermented?

To build deep, complex flavours, the peppers and most of the other ingredients are fermented together for weeks.

Where are they made?

In small batches in Ottawa, Ontario. This first run is limited, so when it's gone, it's gone until the next batch. Read our story.
